Question of the Day

Would you trust your skin to Sherrie Swafford?

Yes, that Sherrie Swafford. Not too long ago, I was tipped off by an anonymous* comment on this post that "Oh Sherrie" had a skin care line. After scouring the web and consulting KGB to find more information (KGB text: "It is rumored that Sherrie Swafford does have a skin care line, but no information can be found where to get it."), all I managed to come up with was this Yahoo! directory listing. That's it. No website with fancy graphics and an online store. Nothing. Nada. Zip. Zilch. Zero. Just a directory listing of a salon out in Bakersfield, California that could quite possibly be Sherrie's salon, which leads me to believe that it's a small operation. The listing does have a picture, though--what do you think? I think it could be her.

But back to the question at hand. Assuming that the salon in Bakersfield does belong to Steve Perry's ex, and assuming you're actually in Bakersfield to visit it, would you buy any of her products? The one review on the directory claims that they're good products. Know what my answer would be?

HELL YES! People, this is a skin care line by Sherrie Swafford. The Sherrie Swafford who dated Steve Perry back in the day, the Sherrie Swafford who was so close to his perfect complexion she could touch it. Or kiss it. Or swipe some DNA to use in some future capacity, which it looks like she has. Guys, you know what's really in those little jars and bottles that stock the shelves of that salon in Bakersfield? Steve Perry Complexion DNA. Sherrie has found a way to harness it, mass produce it and share it with the world, so we can all dip our toes in Steve's personal Fountain of Youth. Or at least the citizens in Bakersfield can, anyway. This is the single greatest contribution to society, ever, which is why I think Ms. Swafford should be awarded the Nobel Prize in BETTERING THE FREAKING WORLD. But before she can win that award, she needs to share it with the freaking world. So, Sherrie, what gives? Why you holding out on the rest of us, boo?

So tell me--would you trust your skin to Sherrie?

*Actually, I think I know who the comment was from, but since they posted it anonymously, I don't want to "out" them if they don't want to be "outed," know what I'm sayin'?

  1. I had heard about Sherrie having a skincare line. I tried looking into it but nothing showed. I kind of dislike her for breaking Steve Perry's heart. But any news on her or how she looks intersects me. So thanks.

  2. You're welcome! I was hoping to turn up more, like a website where you could order some of what she sells, but no dice. Oh well. Maybe one day.

  5. Hmmm...interesting, but I'm not sure. The woman's eyes on website seem a little bit different than Oh Sherrie's. But I don't know, I'm no expert. Could be her.

  6. Not Sherrie Swafford. By the way, she didn't break Steve's heart he broke hers, Never married her and cut her loose because she told him to choose her or Journey. He's been away from her for over 25 years. I'm sure they are BOTH over it by now.

  7. I used to go to Sherrie for facials many years ago when I lived in Bakersfield. She was into natural skincare - organic products without natural additives - and a vegetarian. The poster above is right, Sherri Widtfeldt isn't Sherrie Swafford.

  8. oops...I mean products without chemical additives

  9. As sad as it is that they broke up, I think they should have stayed together. Obviously for Steve Perry his heart never recovered because he never married and his song lyrics were about not being ever to fall in love again. The love of his life will always be Sherrie so he was loyal to his heart, the only problem is he should have married her since is heart basically belonged to her. As much as all of his female fans would have loved to be Mrs. Perry, his heart was already spoken for by Sherrie. I respect his decision and also respect her as well.

  10. That's stupid. There is never only one person one can fall in love with. She was only one girl in many for him and if you think otherwise you are fooling yourself. He is a man, first, as well as being a rock star, and well, the possibilities and opportunities are endless. I'm sure he could have any girl we wanted and did. So Sherrie may have been one love of his life but there were many others....

  13. Nor are all for everything such as baby bottles, article
of clothing, and shoes. woven Labelsare a estimable option because Different printed Labels, they won't fade with washings and toothpaste, vitamins, candy, fruit drinks, lunch meats, medicines and just more or less any solid food available. But are we truly getting a and CD releases of neo-classical and lousy orchestral folk albums.

  14. Had Sherrie known that Steve was going to leave Journey approx. 1 year after their breakup to pursue a more private and normal life, its possible their love story would have had a different outcome. What seems more puzzling, is how could a 30 year old (they were in their thirties at the time they were dating), not know that a man's priority is his ability to provide for his family, future or current. For Steve, Journey was his bread and butter, which would have afforded them a great life. To have given Steve a choice, 'me or journey', seems slightly myopic. To date, all reports indicate that Steve is still unmarried, but has a child from a long ago fling, before Sherrie. It will be interesting to see to whom, or how his estate will be distributed after his death. Will Sherrie be a recipient of the very thing she felt was a burden to her life plans?

  16. This piece below was written by Sherrie Swafford in responce to a journalists questions in 2013........ I found Sherrie. To my great disappointment (but complete understanding), she was not comfortable participating. But to my great honor, she wrote this brief update and said I could share it:

    SHERRIE SWAFFORDS MESSAGE - :
"You are the only person [who] has ever received a response! MTV, VH1 [contacted me and] I did nothing and hoped they thought it was the wrong number! I am an esthetician, teach yoga, never married, no children. Love my animals, planting flowers, and life. Cherish my friends (including Steve) and my privacy. It was so different for us! It was just Love, nothing else!".............................. You can read the full piece in this link below in the thread about the making of the Separate Ways video..............http://noblemania.blogspot.co.uk/2013/07/

  17. While it seems utterly romantic to imagine Sherri and Steve reuniting and reigniting their love in present times, since both of them are unmarried and single, Steve has commented in interviews, he is reluctant to go back to something which he feels has run its course. Whether that thing is Journey or personal relationships, Steve has stated that for him, going back doesn’t work. And as such, it is probably for this reason Steve and Sherri will remain friends.

  18. In a different article, here is an excerpt from a 2011 interview with Steve Perry in the Tampa Bay Times (http://www.tampabay.com/features/music/steve-perry-his-journey-not-yet-complete-finds-his-voice-again/1203242):

"Sherrie and I were crazy in love, I can tell you that. And it was a very tough time, because the band was peaking," he says. "And if any woman out there thinks that it would be real exciting to be the girlfriend of somebody in a band like that and that it would be all peaches and cream, the truth is that it's hard to navigate a relationship when you're in the midst of such a ride."

  19. I'm sure they are both rolling their eyes in amazement if they are reading how people are contemplating their personal lives and a relationship that took place more than 30 years ago! LOL...I love Steve Perry...but you guys have way too much time on your hands!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Agree w/"rolling their eyes!, how funny is that! Ah, and how true... anyway, Steve is over all of his former girlfriends except Kellie. Now, he and I continue to be great friends. He and I create new music, and he and my 'very significant other' have intelligent conversations; spend time in the music studio and on the boardwalk...on the beach, enjoy breakfasts and other meals...then once we have enough for a collaboration,we will continue to be friends. All through this time, Steve will be free, and feel free - as he always should, to like and love whomever he chooses.this is who he is, good at being a friend first and foremost. /sincerely his friends, us.
